News Archive
The news on this page dates back to the very beginning of my XWA editing career. It covers many different time periods during which my site hosted in other locations. Furthermore, my site and others have changed significantly over time, so many links presented in old news may be broken and/or no longer relevant.

A new download is available! In my continuing efforts to enhance XWA with photo-realistic textures, I have released upgraded asteroids. All six original asteroids each come with unique textures and most have been resized. Instead of being puny, the asteroids have been greatly enlarged to more realistic sizes. The result is the ability to create fantastic asteroid fields for skirmishes and missions. You can download this upgrade from the OPTs section, page 2. Screen shots are available for preview. Have fun and don't run into any of them.

This is just a small update. Updated versions of the Asteroid Laser Battery (ALB) and Asteroid Warhead Launcher (AWL) are available. Those of you who downloaded the first versions were probably disappointed to see the blurred textures; you had to be very close to these craft to see the textures stand out in sharp detail. I did not know how to fix this because even the original TG AWL and ALB had this problem. However, I later figured out what the problem was, software vectors. If the software vectors are zeroed out for all faces of the model, the textures stand out in sharp detail at all distances in the game. This has been fixed for both the AWL and ALB. The photo-realistic textures are now clear and sharp!
Ace Antilles has updated his site with news and his XWAUP skirmish DAT pack. This includes pictures of all XWAUP craft to date minus the Tug for installation with DATech. You can now see the XWAUP versions of your favorite craft displayed in the skirmish editor! Get it at Ace Antilles X-wing Outpost.

Even though I have been working with OPTs lately, I have not ignored the Ashgard Campaign. Those of you who have asked me to continue work on the campaign will be happy to know that the next battle is out. Yes, "Terror in the Dreighton Triangle" has been released and it is loosely based on the Rebel Assault II game. Download it and enjoy!

Three new OPTs are up and ready for download. I decided to retexture the Asteroid Hangar, Asteroid Laser Battery and Asteroid Warhead Launcher with high quality textures similar to those found on the moon surface OPT. These textures, being derived from real NASA images, are very realistic. These OPTs are available now from the OPTs section, page two.
There is another important update that you should be aware of. Because the Moon Surface OPT and missions pack released several weeks ago is really a shipset by definition, I have moved it to the "Shipsets" page. However, the same moon surface OPT is still on the "OPTs" page, but as a single OPT download without missions.

I have long awaited for cockpits for the T-wing and YT-2400 Outrider CORT. This is because the Ashgard campaign uses the T-wing, and I have always wanted to fly the Outrider. I got tired of waiting, so I decided to make these cockpits myself. While I was at it, I made a Toscan Fighter cockpit too.
In making the Outrider cockpit, I took the cockpit from the YT-2000 family transport and attached it to the hull of the Outrider. Much of the cockpit interior has been re-textured. In addition, I created a new instrument panel with illumination and added illumination to other lighted panels inside the cockpit. Yes, expect to fly the Outrider in the Ashgard Campaign at some point in time.
The T-wing cockpit is made from the old X-wing cockpit. I retextured much of the interior, created a new instrument panel with illumination and changed the POV to make the cockpit more realistic. In a similar fashion, the Toscan Fighter cockpit was created from the old Y-wing cockpit.
I am not particularly proud of these cockpit OPTs because of the way I made them. However, each cockpit does an adequate job of making you feel like you are flying each respective craft. Note that these cockpit OPTs will be removed as the XWAUP versions of these craft are released. The XWAUP Outrider is far from done, and perhaps it will never be done given the already-old age of XWA. Although not an original piece of work, there is at least a satisfactory Outrider cockpit available for XWA.
These cockpits have been released, so you can find them on the "OPTs" page. There are screenshots available so you can preview before deciding to download.

This is a small update, but at least it includes a download. Something I haven't done for awhile, a single combat mission has been released.
As you know, the XWAUP IRD Fighter was released recently. Since this civilian fighter now has a cockpit (aside from other improvments), it is now worth flying in the game. So I decided to make a mission for it. In fact, I will make at least one stand-alone combat mission for each civilian craft released at the XWAUP. Expect to get a Supa Fighter mission soon. You can find the new IRD mission on the newly added fourth page of mission downloads. Have fun.

I have some good news for those who are BHE and Allied-challenged. The moon surface OPT released two days ago is now available as an XMOD! Using Defiant's XIS program, you can install the surface OPT and the missions with just a few clicks.
02/04/02
One of the moon surface OPTs is done and ready for download! Well, it's been done for awhile now, but I was making missions that use the moon surfaces. I made these missions so that people would actually have a use for this OPT rather just installing it and saying, "Yeah, it's a moon alright, now what?"
Please give me feedback! I spent immense amounts of time on this project and I want to know what you think of it. I need feedback from everyone who downloads the moon OPT. That way, I can get an idea of how much the OPT is being used and what the interest level is. Take notice, if I don't get much feedback, I might just assume no one cares and cancel future ground OPT projects. This is not asking for much, so please take five minutes and just do it.
In other news, new pics of the Interdictor are up at the XWAUP. Also, the MC40 Light Calamari Cruiser has been released. A very nice ship.
01/22/02
I have posted screenshots of the latest versions of the planets and moons. You can view them from the OPTs page. These OPTs have changed significantly since the last update, so it is worth having a look. I have eliminated most of the texture problems in the landscapes, so they should be released soon.
In other news, Defiant has updated XIS to 2.7, fixing some problems and providing improvements. Get it at Defiant's Flying Temple.
01/14/02
This is an update consisting of news from elsewhere in the community. The IRD Fighter has just been released at the XWAUP. I've tried it and must give the cockpit two thumbs up! A very nice OPT. Get it here.
Darksaber also has released a new OPT, the Republic TIE. Notice there is no "New" in the name, so this TIE is not associated with the New Republic. Darksaber also has available, an updated version of the A-wing and B-wing. Both craft have texture improvements and now come with LODs. The B-wing cockpit has been dramatically improved. All of this is available at Darksaber's OPT Station.

Here is an update worth checking out. Yes, Battle 3 of the Ashgard Campaign has been released. Click on the "Campaign" button and go get it. Please let me know if you find any bugs, grammar errors or any other problems. Due to the fact that the last three missions of Battle 2 have not been released, there is a three-mission "hole" in the campaign. That means that there is a lack of continuity between Battle 2 and Battle 3. I apoligize for the inconvenience but the Yavin missions from Battle 2 must wait until the Battle of Yavin Shipset is released.

It's been over a month since my last update but I've been really busy with XWA related things. The most obvious of which is the page you are looking at. Yes, I have redesigned my web site, a task that was long overdue. It will probably take awhile to get all of the pages done, but the remodelling should be complete soon.
I have the next battle of my Ashgard Campaign completed, but I have not uploaded it yet. I hope to have a mission tester soon to check for bugs, grammar and spelling errors, etc before missions are released. If you are interested in this job please contact me. Whatever the case, I will soon update the campaign page with descriptions of upcoming battles.
I have in the past requested that people report any problems they find with newly released missions. The response has been very little. Either my missions are flawless or people just throw the bad ones in the recycling bin. I can only help you if you help yourself.
I now have one staff member, Lt. Guilo, the mighty forum moderator at XWL. He is the designated creative writer and he will be creating in-game E-mail for the Ashgard Campaign. Hang in there pal, I'm pretty tied up now and I'll get you the stuff you need soon. :-)
On another note, I have actually started working with OPTs. I have anxiously waited for planetary surface OPTs to be created and released. Flavid did so and they weren't bad. I decided to experiment with textures for these OPTs with what I believe to be great success. I won't elaborate now, but you can see the previews here. I think that in the future, very nice planetary OPTs and missions will become available. This is a new project that I will be working on along with my campaign. I've been getting offers for help by E-mail, so the project seems to have support. I look forward to seeing how this will develop in the future...

Sorry for the lack of updates, but work, summer fun, and computer problems have kept me from updating my site and getting much mission building done. However, I thank all of you who have continued to visit my site during this time.
Well, I am finally back for an update after a long and frustrating ordeal with my computer(s). I had a power supply failure with my old computer, since I overloaded it when I installed my CD-RW drive. Well, the new 220-watt power supply wouldn't fit in the box, so I ended up going to a new larger box and a thorough upgrade. This means a new Asus motherboard, 1.2 gigahertz AMD Athlon processor, Geforce video card with 34 megs of RAM, and more. I won't bother going through all of the difficutly I endured with the dealer to get this computer working. It is still very buggy. The worst part is the Fatal Exception OE I get everytime I exit XWA. That means that I have to restart my computer between launches of the game, which makes mission building and testing a pain in the ass. If anyone knows anything about Fatal Exception OEs and think you might be able to help, please contact me.
On to better news. I have released an incomplete version of Battle 2 of my campaign; it does not have the last three missions because they pertain to the Battle of Yavin. These missions can't be released until the Battle of Yavin shipset is released due to the similarity of these missions. However, you still get 6 missions to add to the campaign! Although not required, I strongly recommend that you use the XWAUP T/Ax1 for this campaign. I have placed the TIE Avenger in these missions by default so that anyone can play the campaign with default TG craft. However, the missions are designed around the XWAUP T/Ax1 and are much better balanced with that craft.
I am really busy with work for the time being and hunting season is taking up much of my time. However, my seasonal work position ends in a few weeks, so after that, I will be able to devote much more time to mission building. I hope to get a few more battles out in the next few months.
Speaking of Yavin, I have an update on the BOY Shipset. I have sent Ace Antilles what I believe to be the FINAL versions of the missions. Hopefully, Ace can finish the sound and message editing so that we can get this thing done and released.
It's been so long since my last update that I'm not going to try to cover all of the news in the XWA community. Just suffice it to say that the XWAUP team is doing a fantastic job of getting things done. Darksaber in particular is doing a great job of releasing numerous fantastic OPTs. In the near future, I hope to build a short campaign with his fantastic neo-Imperial TIEs.
8/7/01
There are new Battle of Yavin Shipset screen shots posted for viewing. All of the screenshots are new and and were redone after installing the Rebel and Imperial XWAUP OPTs! So what are you waiting for, go have a look!
Here is more good news. I've been working again on the Yavin Shipset over the last two weeks and have made lots of progress! I have made several improvements to the Yavin mission and solved many problems that were difficult to work out. There's a few bugs such that some *.wav files not playing when some messages show, but everything else works fine. Improvements have also been made with the other two missions in the shipset, including messages. With the exception of the said bugs in the Yavin missions, all three missions are complete and work as they should.
What's next? Ace Antilles still needs to add sounds and Darksaber will hopefully be able to build some ground and hangar OPTs.

My site is back up after two weeks of being down. 9ug.com decided to call it quits and terminated all of their accounts, including mine. This came without warning and fortunately, I had all my files backed up on my hard drive and elswhere. Now I'm being hosted and XWL and I would like to thank Nob Akimoto for setting up the account.
On to other things. Well this is old news now but the ITP and IFP have been released at XWAUP. I have tried both patches and I have to congratulate Darksaber on his research into LODs. By incorporating low levels of detail in XWAUP OPTs at distances where detail is irrelevant, game performance was greatly improved. And improved it was, as I noticed only a minor drop in performace with the patches.
Be sure to vist Darksaber's site. He has completely redesigned his site and has new banners available for linking purposes.
I have been working on my campaign and Battle 2 should be ready soon. I was hoping to have it done this week, but having to re-upload my site will probably delay the release until next week or longer. I have also been working on the Yavin missions, and will send them to Ace Antiles soon for him to look at. Since Battle 2 of my campaign has Yavin missions in it, I would like to finish the BOY shipset soon so they can be released. If it looks like the shipset is going to take a long time, I will temporarily substitute other missions into Battle 2 so that the campaign can continue. In such a case, I would re-release Battle 2 with Yavin missions after the BOY Shipset is done.
6/27/01
After more than two months, I am finally back with an update. This is a rather large update because I have added two new pages for mission downloads including several new missions. The campaign I discussed in the last update now has its own page and several of the missions are ready to download! I am releasing the missions in pieces by battle. So far the prologue, training missions, and the first battle are done. That's 15 brand new missions! The campaign page is the briefing room and the single missions that I have released in the past are now in the combat simulator. So go read about the campaign and get the first releases.
On the last update, I requested feedback regarding the campaign. I was rather disappointed in the lack of response. I don't think it is due to a lack of interest because my hit counter keeps going up, i.e., people are still visting my site. Perhaps people are just lazy and want to gobble up the "freebies" and to hell with the feedback. Only one person offered feedback (thanks General Taskeen) which was appreciated. I spend alot of time updating this site so that people can have FREE add-ons for XWA which is something that I don't have to do. A little of your time for some simpleifeedback is not asking much.
Yes, it is true. I am now hosting missions by other authors. So, if you have any good missions, please send them to me for evaluation. In order to recieve consideration, the mission must be challenging, have reasonable goals, have a briefing, and have the all the text sections filled out including the "Description," "Win Debriefing" and "Hints." Missions that do not meet these criteria will not be hosted, period. I only want to offer the XWA community complete high quality pieces of work. To those who have already sent me missions, thank you. I will get to them as soon as possible so please be patient.
On to other news, Ace Antilles has major updates for his site including new BOY shipset screenshots. He also has some new OPTs available for download. Ace has also posted quit a bit of news that I wont repeat here. Go to the go to his X-wing Outpost and check it out.
Darksaber is now hosting Chris Walker's Episode 1 shipset. So if you need to find it or for that matter haven't played it yet, get it at his OPT Station. There is quite a bit of news at Darksaber's site as well.
4/16/01
Four new missions are uploaded and ready to fly! Two K-wing missions are available on the Missions for Advanced Users page. Two others are available on the main missions page (briefing room). Soooooo, have at 'em.
As far as the campaign is concerned, I am still undecided on many details. However, all of my mission building for the time being will be centered around this campaign. Since the campaign will use the missions that are already available at this site, I will continue to release missions as I make them. That way, nobody has to wait a long time for new mission releases. Also, those not interested in the campaign can simply pick and choose what missions they like and don't like.
I am thinking about adding a page for the campaign, showing a list of the battle headings and mission titles, along with the availability status of each mission. That way, people would be able to "build" the campaign along with me as each new mission is released. Also, after the release of each mission, an updated mission.lst file would be available for download. My campaign missions would have different names than the TG missions, so by simply swapping mission.lst files, you can play either the default campaign or my campaign while having all of the missions in the same folder!
While I am building this campaign for myself, basically cusomizing XWA to my liking, I feel the work should be available to all. If I am going to go to the trouble of making a separate page for the campaign, plus all of the extra work of making the campaign available in a user-friendly format, I must have the support of many. In other words, I need feedback on you, based on what you want. If I get none or negative feedback on the campaign idea, then I will NOT go to the trouble of releasing my missions as a campaign. If you have an opinion on this, please E-mail me or visit the forum.
Rest assured, regardless of the campaign outcome and status, virtually all missions I make will be released for whatever following that I have, since I know there are at least a few that have a liking for my style of missions.

Just a small update this time to check in. Believe it or not, I have been working. Between now and the last update, I have built ten missions, and there are three additional missions that are ready to be released. Two of these missions are K-wing missions, both of which are "blastin fun" to play. One of them has an appearance of an ESDII. Another mission is a simple attack mission on a VSD, with the player flying an X-wing.
The other ten missions are actually for a campaign that I'm building. These missions are all new family prologue missions, with an entirely new story line and two entirely new Rebel Alliance training missions. The player (Herschel Ashgard) is part of a shipping family in the Outer Rim that suddenly finds itself under persecution by the Imperials. There is no feud with a rival family; the only conflict is with the Empire. Eventually the Ashgards are driven from their home and flee the Outer Rim to seek refuge with the young and struggling Rebel Alliance. The player will join the Rebels as a starfighter pilot, but his family will try to rebuild its business in this new location. The time frame of the campaign will cover all of the SW Trilogy, and continue on into New Republic times. As such, the player will start out flying Z-95s and Y-wings, but eventually fly the X-wing, A-wing and B-wing as they are developed and introduced. By the end of the campaign, the player will be flying K-wings and E-wings. Most missions will be fictional, but the major historical events will be covered.
The campaign will be largely made up of missions that are already available on this site. This is unfortunate in the sense that many missions won't be completly new. However, these missions will be modified somewhat to make them fit well into the story line. This includes adding a detailed commander breifing which none of my current missions have. Of course, many new missions will be made too. I already have over 40 missions in all with representation of many different time periods. This is enough for a skeletal framework for the entire campaign, and 20+ new missions will be made to fill in the holes to complete a decent story line. I'm not prosmising anything, but this campaign could get up to 100 missions in length. That's if I can think of that many decent mission scenarios.
I don't want to clog up my news page with too much on the campaign. I need to figure out how I'm going to go about releasing it and I also need to address some other issues. When I get that all figured out, I will create a new page giving details of the campaign.
On to other news, Troy has once again updated AlliED to v. 1.56. This new version has a wireframe for the 17.6 km SSD, making it easier for placement of craft in missions. Maybe I'll make a 17.6-km SSD version of "The Wrecking Ball" mission. Hmmm. That's gonna take a lot of shipyards!
X-wing legacy is down (of course everyone knows that)! Apparently the changeover to a new server was not as smooth as planned. I guess less time on their message boards means more time for mission building. Nonetheless, I hope that XWL is back up and running soon.
Anyway, please be patient as I need to do just a few little things before uploading more missions. Thanks, and in the mean time, please visit my forums!
3/22/01
I'm back with another update. I now have a Message Board! Here you can comment on my missions, ask questions about my missions, report bugs, discuss the Battle of Yavin shipset or start a topic of general discussion. However, please start threads in the appropriate forums corresponding to the topic at hand.
I had some delay in mission editing because.of the "complete-all-the-mission- goals-and-you-fail-anyway" problem..I had this problem with a mission and there was no conceivable combination of mission goals that would work..Desparate to get the mission working, I saved all of the flight groups in the flight group library and dumped them into a new mission file..I then reset mission goals, redid the messages and it worked. .So now I have identical missions (except for the messages) with identical mission goals but one works and the other doesn't. I have sent both missions to Troy Dangerfield and he is currently looking at them to see if he can get to the bottom of this issue.
On to other news. Oh yes, I've added four new mission files to the Briefing Room page. Some of these missions are among the best I've ever built, in my opinion. So what are you waiting for? Go grab 'em.
Also, I have at least one mission to add to the Advanced User Mission Page but it is not available yet. Just a little more testing. In this mission you'll be unleashing the massive firepower of the K-wing to defend a Bulwark II from an Imperial ambush.
Yavin? Well nothing new. The project is basically on hold until Ace Antilles gets motivated and/or Darksaber builds those ground OPTs. Meanwhile, I'll just keep cranking out missions ;-).
3/5/01
Thanks to all of you who have visited my site in the past few weeks. Knowing there is support for the work I do inspires me to do more.
Four new missions have been added to the main missions page (Briefing Room). Check them out there. No new missions for the Advanced User page this time, maybe next time ;-). Also, three mission files have been upgraded. These include both versions of "Breaking the Emperor's Toys" and the 'advanced user' version of "Attack on Imperial Light Starship Convoy".
In other news, VeritechCEO has, after numerous delays, conflicts and technical difficulties, released his First Contact shipset, Beta 1.5 version. Click on the name to visit his shipset library and download it.
Not much else to report. No Yavin updates, but hopefully with Darksaber back, work on Yavin will pick up again soon. I think I heard Ace say he was getting motivated to work on this shipset again. Isn't that right, Ace?
2/25/01
Well, another update, and in good time. I finally have a decent joystick! Yes, that means regular updates to this webesite with lots of upcoming missions!
I have added an entirely new missions page for advanced users. This means that you need certain custom OPTs installed and must have and know how to use AlliED. Custom OPTs used so far in these missions are the K-wing, TIE Droid, TIE Advanced x1, TIE GT, TIE Scimitar, TIE Invader, TIE Scout, World Devastator, Colossus, and the Sovereign Class Star Destroyer. In all, there are eight missions, four of which are entirely new, and the other four are different versions of previously released missions. Here is the link for the new page:
Also, there are four new mission files in the briefing room, only one of which requires the New Craft add 1.2b from SFA Technologies.
2/5/01
Well, it has practically been geologic time since I have updated my site. The good news is that I have a "marginally usefull" joystick and I have managed to release three new missions including "The Wrecking Ball." These missions are now available in the Briefing Room.
My site has moved! My site used to be hosted by 50megs.com, but I started having problems with their service. Supposedly, they were transferring all of their web sites to "better systems." Well after my site was moved, I was totally unable to access my file manager and update my web page! My password did not work, nor did the others that 50megs.com told me to use. My response? Outta there! Well, there is nothing new about my website other than the new web address and a few updates. However, because I can't access my account at 50megs.com, my old site is still up! People might still be accessing the old site not knowing that I have moved and they will not see any of my updates there, of course. Please, update your bookmarks and please tell others about the address change as well.
I am happy to announce a new XWA site recently added to the community. RoadRazor's Death Star Construction Bay is now online and has OPTs available for download. As many of you know, the Battle of Yavin shipset uses RoadRazor's TIE Advanced x1, which is now available at his site.
Little if anything has been done on the Battle of Yavin shipset. We are still waiting for Darksaber to return so that he can build the ground OPTs. Ace Antilles appears to have moved on to other things at the moment, but he says that he might get motivated again if Darksaber starts working on the OPTs. I realize this project has taken alot of time, and it might be postponed indefinately if Darksaber does not return. If much more time passes, I might discuss releasing the shipset as it is with Ace. XWA isn't going to live forever, and I'd like to release the Battle of Yavin Shipset while there is still interest.
In other news, AlliED has been upgraded to 1.55! Of course, you probably already knew that :^)
8/15/00
First of all, thanks to all of those who have visited my site over the past few months. I added a guestbook awhile back and it can be accessed from my homepage. Please leave feedback on my missions or say whatever.
Well, here are some updates. Yes, I am still here. I still don't have any new missions for download, sorry. I have my new joystick but it is not compatible with my game card! This means that I need to get another game card or a different joystick. When I get this problem resolved, I will start cranking out more missions. I expect to release a lot of missions during the fall when all of my summer fun winds down and the short days and cold of winter force me indoors.
"The Wrecking Ball" mission is basically complete. There is a single bug in the mission that I need to work out and I will do so as soon as my joystick problems are resolved.
Ace Antilles is currently gathering up sounds for the first two missions of the BOY shipset. It appears that he has his computer back up and running so he will be continuing on with the shipset. We need your help! If you have anyo ANH movie sounds covering the Millenium Falcon's escape from Tatooine or escape from the Death Star, iplease let us know. E-mail me at rfrankli@palmain.com or Ace Antilles at ace@antilles100.freeserve.co.uk . Full credit will be given for contributions.i
In other news (yes, some of this news is old) lots of milestones and advancements in the general XWA community.
Hell Raiser has released his Shipset Launcher 2000, currently v. 1.2. Get it here. I have tried it with Chris' newly released EP1 Shipset which can be found here. The Shipset Launcher works great (thanks Hell Raiser!). The EP1 Shipset is pretty good.i Most of the early missions in the shipset are average quality in my opinion but the attack on the droid controller ship in the final mission was well done. At any rate, the shipset is worth having. Good work Chris!
The XWA Upgrade Rebel fighters pack has been released! Get it here. iWith my 56K modem, it will take 4 hours to download it and as such, I don't have it yet. So I can't offer any comments at this time. However, the picks of the 5i upgraded Rebel Starfighters look fantastic. I will download this upgrade when I get the time. Ms. Talon has tested the upgrade with some big missions and the report is that the upgrade runs smooth! iThis is encouraging because some of the larger missions are jerky on my computer anyway.i
6/13/00
Wow! I've had a lot of visitors since my last update. Sorry, I don't have any more custom missions at this time. However, I do have one in the making and it is nearly complete. While making this mission, the firing mechanism on my joystick wore out! It was a great joystick and it lasted me almost two years, but now I think I must give it a proper burial. I live in an area where joysticks are hard to come by and I have to order one online. When I get a new joystick, I'll be back making more missions. Also, the Battle of Yavin shipset will continue. Sorry for the delays, but we are committed to finish this project. It WILL be released, so please be patient.
You can learn more about the current mission I'm developing in the Briefing Room.
It seems Ace Antilles is having computer trouble! Not sure about the details but he may have to reinstall a lot of software. At any rate, both of us are having trouble but we will continue the Yavin shipset soon!
5/16/00
I seem to post new missions in threes and well, as usual there are three new missions avialable for download! Find them with descriptions in the Briefing Room.
Another Yavin update. I have nearly completed the first twoYavin shipset missions including briefings. There is going to be a total of three missions, two depiticting movie events leading up to the BOY and the third mission will be the BOY itself. There will also be a cutscene showing the capture of the Tantive IV above Tatooine. I am still working with the BOY mission and the other two are now in the hands of Ace Antilles and he will be adding messages and sounds. All of the messages in the Yavin mission are in place complete with sounds and they are awesome. The mission still needs to be calibrated so that events fall into place better. We are getting closer! However, there is no estimated time of release yet :(. We might get held up some as we wait for ground OPTs for the atmospheric regions. Ace has updated his site with more info on the Yavin shipsets. Click here to check it out.
I have created a credits poster for all of those involved in this project. Click here to check it out.
5/2/00
I have added three new missions for download! They're ready to fly in the Briefing Room. Also, check out an upcoming mission. Furthermore, I have upgraded two missions to include more dynamic mission goals, better waypoints, and itemized bonus points. More details about the upgrades in the Briefing Room.
Yavin update: Ace Antilles has sent me the Yavin mission file for further testing. Sounds like the mission is turning out to be a very accurate recreation. Still needs some tweaking to get the events and timing right but progress is being made. The sounds I'm hearing so far are fantastic! This will be a totally immersive XWA experience unlike any other!
As we all know, Datamaster's site has been shut down. I feel fortunate to have started XWA editing while DM's was still around. I appreciated all the people there who participated in great discussion threads. Many of these people helped me get to where I am today. Of course, the legacy lives on at X-wing: Legacy....

Thanks to all of you who have visted my site!
I have progress to report on the Battle of Yavin (BOY) shipset! Irhave made significant progress on a new mission for the shipset that takes place before the actual BOY mission. The missionris complete except for messages and a briefing. I will start the third and final mission soon. Ace Antilles is still working on the BOY mission, working with sounds and messages. Hopefully Force Commander won't slow him down too much!r:)
As for the three combat missions in the making, progress has also been made. I have put briefings on two of them and I still need to fine tune all three to make them "flow" better. Please be patient, as much of my spare time is devoted to the BOY shipset. I will try to get these three missions out during the weekend but I can't promise.

I now have one mission download ready! It's a modification to the Battle of Endor missions that replaces the TG Calamari Cruisers with more advanced OPTs from the SFA Tech ship patch. Get it in the Briefing Room.

Welcome to my new page! I will be posting XWA custom missions for download soon! I will be adding missions as I create them, so check back often for the latest! At this time, I don't plan any campaigns; most missions will be XvT style stand-alone combat missions.
For those who don't know me, I am relatively new to the XWA editing community. However, I'mrstarting off with a project of great significance! I have joined forces with Ace Antilles to create a fantastic Battle of Yavin shipset. I have created a nice Battle of Yavin mission thatrcaptures the major events from the movie. The Battle of Yavin mission features Hernán Barreiro's awsome Death Star OPT and Darth Vader's TIE Advancedx1 OPT by RoadRazor. Ace is putting finishing touches on the mission and will use his expertise to add real movie sounds recorded by Altair. Other missions in the shipset will depict events in thermovie leading up to the climactic Battle of Yavin. Click here for some screenshots and details. Also, be sure to visit Ace Antilles X-wing Outpost here for more on the Battle of Yavin shipset and some other cool XWA stuff.
